Imagine 100 orphans with no one to look after them. What would you do if you knew of such a place and it was within your power to go there and help them?

In my former life (before I decided to be a kingdom activist), I would never have known about this place called Dreamland in Yei, South Sudan. But years ago, when I began making myself available to God and to his children, that began to change.

The places God takes you when you make yourself available to him can be such a surprise. I wouldn't know about Dreamland unless Uche Izuora had cared enough to share with me as I'm sharing with you now. It all started about five years ago when Uche read my blog and told me about his passion for the young people of South Sudan.

I in turn told Joy Robertson and Shannon Morgan about it when they returned from the World Race. And shortly thereafter, Uche invited them to join him in Yei. Joy and Shannon were just crazy enough to take Uche up on his invitation. They went for a month and returned last week.

South Sudan is the world's newest country, the product of a civil war, the aftershocks of which, rumble on to this day. It is, as you would suspect, war-torn. It's broken people spill out on the dirty streets of Yei. Everywhere you look, you see opportunity. And of all the places crying out for help, maybe Dreamland seems neediest.

The children are hungry for just about everything - food, love, and education being at the top of the list.

Shannon and Joy have been given a free hand to begin treating the 100 orphans as their own children - loving them and discipling them. They are planning to recruit a small team to return with them in the fall.

Perhaps a few of you reading this have longed to have children of your own and the prospects seem bleak. Or maybe you just want your life to count and don't know where to start. If so, here is your opportunity to go be a hero to a group of children who have no one. You can live a life that others only dream about in a place called Dreamland.

If you think you might be interested, I suggest talking to Joy or Shannon and planning a vision trip there. Contact me and I'll get you more information.
