I don’t know much about this group in the video below, but I like the fact that they have decided to do something about an issue that we are largely ignorant of here in the States.  Over here in SE Asia (where we’ll be all week), the sex trade and human trafficking are a sick and booming business. It’s an everyday reality for Jim Larson at the Well.  Look at some of the stories he is living out:

Da has hidden her pregnancy from her family, most of her friends and
the baby’s own father.  When she discovered she was pregnant, she said
to the tiny fetus inside her, “I hope you’re ready, because we’re going
to have a difficult life.” A social service agency referred her to us,
and for the last several months Da has been a member of our own family.
Si has lied, stolen and snuck off several times to visit her baby’s
father, only to get beat up and cursed again by him and his mom.  The
last time her broke her eardrum.
Wan came back again after a 9-month absence with minimal phone
contact.  It’s her 4th stint at The Well.  She is unhappy, in the same
codependent relationship she has been in since we met her 3 1/2 years
ago.  The fact that she keeps coming back however says that she’s going
to make it.  When your own mom pimps you as a teenager, it takes a
while to get over it.

Something must be done.  I like the idea of a campaign, maybe like the one being launched in the video below.  What do you think – do we support this? Or do we support something else? Do any of you reading this have some ideas?

Here and here are a couple of our partners who are making a difference.

  • wow. so it’s a movie? a movement? a campaign? a little bit of everything? i’m googling this. 🙂

  • great video, lets hope it makes people vomit enough to do something, maybe Hollywood could use its power for good, instead of enforcing the evil for a change!
    this fires me up!!

I'm motivated to join God in his global reclamation project. He's on the move, setting his sons and daughters free from their places of captivity. And he's partnering with those of us who have been freed to go and free others.
