Karen and I celebrated 25 years of marriage in December. She’s been a great partner. We’ve shared so many adventures together. I’ve watched many of my friends struggle in their marriages. They are unhappy, on a bad track, and don’t know how to find their way back.

I sat next to a lady named Sheila on a plane recently. She was reading a book about making it in your second marriage. Her husband was struggling and she was trying to figure him out. I prayed with her and gave her the name of a friend I thought could help.

I’ve got other friends who are just as unhappy as they can be in their marriage. Usually they are selfish and not schooled in what it means to really serve your spouse. I grieve for them.

If I had one resource to give a couple wanting help with their marriage, it would be http://www.marriagebuilders.com/. Take the Love Busters test to get a handle on the bad habits that may be undermining your marriage.

The bottom line is, are you putting more deposits into your spouse’s “Love Bank account,” than the withdrawals you make? In these high-strung times, we really need to pay close attention to that. If you’re looking for a great marriage, take the test.

  • Hey, thanks for the recommendation! Due to the great need we’ve seen, we are starting a marriage group in two weeks using the book “Love and Respect” by Eggerich, but will be looking towards what to do after that. We’ll look into it!

I'm motivated to join God in his global reclamation project. He's on the move, setting his sons and daughters free from their places of captivity. And he's partnering with those of us who have been freed to go and free others.
