Alfie: Abandoned orphan in South Africa
This is Alfie – he lives in South Africa. By all rights, he should be dead. His parents both died of AIDS and he was
abandoned in a wooden box.
Some people
who love orphans rescued him and nursed back to robust health.
It’s ironic that while there are millions of
orphaned children like Alfie in Africa, so many Americans would be looking for
children to love.
The orphans don’t have
the ability to come over here, so I figure that more Americans need to go over
there and love them. It’s not a
complicated thing.
They are so
receptive.
“This is true
religion, to look after widows and orphans in their distress.” -James 1:27

Hey Seth,
Thanks for posting Alfie’s picture and story. I miss him and can’t wait to get back to Africa. Only 7 days left!
He walks up to you, lifts up his hands, and while throwing his hands foward, he yells, “FIRE ON YOU”! When you do it back, he falls out like the spirit of God hits him!! He is an amazing child, and your right, their are many like him!!!! His almost adopted parents are an example to us all. They have rasied their kids, (Both in ministry by the way) and have started over; COME ON CHURCH!
Yeah Seth, this is the brokenness you were teaching about. It definitely hurts!
aww… he is so cute and i can not wait to get back there after the world race and get to love him and eat him up. there are thousands just like him yes… and you ask why we chose the “one” and the Lord said to be odedient and that’s what we did… he will bring more I know, this is only the begining. 🙂
I went to South Africa and worked with Aflie’s almost parents. Not only are they amazing, but Alfie is the most joyful child I have ever met!! Thank you for posting their story!
