An invitation: Join the 72

Some of you have been reading my blogs about Kingdom Dreams and you are interested. The good news is, (metaphorically speaking) you don’t need to cross over the Jordan. But let me invite you to put a toe in the water by joining us on a 15-minute conference call today to hear how we can help you …
By Seth Barnes

We’ll schedule three calls at 10 a.m., noon, and 2 pm EST today (Friday). You don’t have to say anything or even announce yourself. Here’s the number to dial in:
(641)715-3200
access code 1022897#
Teri Frana was a blog reader in Iowa up until several months ago. She shared this today after our team prayer time: “I remember about a year and a half ago when you sent out a blog entry that asked the question ‘Is my blog really inviting people to activation or is it just allowing them to continue to sit on the sidelines and eat from my table.’ You challenged us all to give you ideas on where to take the blog.” (you can read the blog and Teri’s response here – comment #24)
She went on to say, “I couldn’t get it out of my mind for a couple of days. It challenged me. I had trouble sleeping because it touched something inside me. I knew it was time for me to step up as part of the 72 and be sent.
I didn’t know what that meant, but I knew you had invited me to take part in the movement of God. This invitation really jump started me to become available for being sent.” Today Teri is working alongside me to build this ministry.
She was talking about the scene in Luke 10 where Jesus sends out 72 disciples in groups of two to visit surrounding villages. He’d already sent out his 12 disciples (see chapter 9), but now it was time to spread the invitation to a broader group.
That’s where we are now with Kingdom Dreams. Will you put a toe in the water and join us on a conference call today? We’d love to tell you about what God is doing and how you can become a part of it.

I am challenging some friends to join me in this leap of faith. Thanking God now for however it turns out. Thank you, Seth, for constantly challenging me to move farther and farther away from my comfortable space.
This is a great idea!
I’ll be calling in! Thanks for the pioneering initiatives!
Great idea, though sadly I work ten hours that day at the bank! but i hope you get a world of responses!
awesome. I love it, challenging people to get out of their ruts and into game. What a great idea guys!
love that you’ve always been action oriented dad. excited to see where the Lord takes this new thing.
I was just talking with one of my kids at school today about kingdom dreams – a young freshman girl who wants to end up in Swaziland with a house full of adopted kids.
Now that’s doing some God dreaming!
I’ll be dialed in tomorrow.
I am not able to get access with the access code. It just repeats itself as i plug it in??? How can i find out more info?
Seth,
Stuck my toe in the conference call today….listening for a still, small voice to process what I heard. Thanks!
Thanks so much for hosting this inspiring call! I am looking forward to learning more!
If you joined us, thank you for being on the calls today. We had a lot of people listening in (I’m guessing around 40 on the last call) and we seemed to be hitting the upper limits of our technological capacity at times. Michelle, I’m not sure what happened to you, but we’ll do this again next week and will email you times.
Karen – thanks for joining us. Wish we’d had time to talk.
Hi Uche!
Thanks again, Seth. Was touched by the sincerity of your humility & lack of hubris. Reminded me of an old Pardoner’s tale where the pastor was described as “a shepherd the sheep could understand.”
Praying for you & yours during your Romanian adventure.
Peace for the journey.
Thanks Seth…I still remember chats over pitchers of beer with you in Washington DC in the eighties when life seemed more simple and ministries less competitive. I’ll always be cheering you on. But you know that already. Love you…Shalom…

i’m sorry if i missed something you’ve already written on the subject, but i’m having trouble figuring out my kingdom dream. i feel like i’ve got a thousand baby ones, but not one i feel centered to move toward. would you mind writing a blog on things that may aid in figuring out what our dreams are?
Paige,
We have a process for helping you work through that. I suggest that you talk to our people at Kingdom Dreams. It’s a good question and I’ll take your advice and work on a blog…
I am singer songwriter Tally Koren and over the last 72 days I have been finding things relating to the number 72 to celebrate the release of my new single ’72 Names (Hallelujah).
Today’s video explores the texts from the new testament of Gospel of John 10, when he sent the 72 disciples. The video looks at where the number derived from and some background information about the subject. There is also an interview with James Bradbury an expert of Classics and Theology and lay reader in the Church of England http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjLrk07p6Bs

I’m planning on checking this out.
