Karen and I are here in Mijas, Spain, one of our favorite places in the world. A few reasons why:

1. Because it’s where Andrew and Mo Shearman live and we love them.

2. The students at the g42 Academy are incredible. I’ve grown close to guys like Tres Washington. I love dreaming with them about where God might use them to build his kingdom around the globe.

3. I love what this place stands for. Andrew injects the vision of a hope-filled God and a soon-coming kingdom into everyone who attends the school. The place is alive with possibilities.

4. If you look out over the sea on a clear day, you can see the Moroccan shore. And that for me represents the future – places that need God’s love and are waiting for someone to share it in a way they can hear and feel.

5. We love Mijas’ narrow cobblestone streets, its quaint shops, its white buildings with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. In this hardscrabble world we live in, a cappuccino at a sidewalk cafe in Mijas is the perfect antidote to whatever ails you.

We’ll be teaching the students on discipling, leadership, church planting, and spiritual entrepreneurship this week. Jetlagged last night, I awoke at 1:30 and spent time working on what I’ll share. I felt God saying, “Interact with them as you would a good friend. Discover what I’m doing in them and come alongside that.” I got a picture of Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society as a model. So with that as an objective, I’m walking over to the school this morning.

If you’ve ever wanted to discover more of what God is doing in the earth and how to join him, I recommend coming here and taking a few classes. It’s an awesome place.

  • Lord bless your time with your wife and I pray the Kingdom come to Mijas as it is in heaven. I pray for a Kingdom reality over each one, I pray that the Lord Himself would speak forth from your mouth Seth.

    Blessings

man, i have never been there, to g42, but we are gonna get there some day for a two week spurt. love ya, have a blast.

  • Wow, Seth…loved this update.
Your descriptions…I was right there with you, basking on the shores of the Mediterranean!
So happy you and your wife have this time to re-connect with so many you love and with a land that feeds and re-nourishes you both!
I know, based on what God said to you and your Dead Poets Society reference that you are going to be real and natural in your interactions and teaching this week.
I truly wish I could be there to soak it all in.
I am such a neophyte when it comes to the Christian world scene. A baby, really. I got a taste and vision of it vicariously this morning.
Bless you and Karen, your friends, your spiritual sons and daughters, and the school!

I'm motivated to join God in his global reclamation project. He's on the move, setting his sons and daughters free from their places of captivity. And he's partnering with those of us who have been freed to go and free others.
