Asheville Relief: When Christ-followers Care
The news from Asheville in the wake of Hurricane Helene, is grim. The town without power, roads washed out, many people homeless. The government struggling to get aid to people.
But the Church is responding. The local paper described how Asheville Dream Center was among the first to bring in food, paper towels, cleaning supplies, tarps and pet food.
In nearby Black Mountain, Excel College has been feeding emergency workers and delivering water and baby supplies to families in the surrounding community. Students from the school are helping get meals to those in need.
Adventures Relief has a history of working with partners to bring short-term relief and long-term hope for communities that are hardest hit. Team leaders Chris and Sarah Horvath have been working around the clock to bring critical supplies up Black Mountain after devastating storms. Their team secured $8k in generators from Lowe’s, providing 4 days worth of meals to 250 people.
This is just a start. Hurricane Helene wiped out so many communities across multiple states. Samaritan’s Purse is working with local church partners and has set up multiple bases to bring help.
Churches around the country are praying and asking God how they can help. Volunteer help is needed immediately, and will continue to be needed for a long time to come.

How can I help?
Thanks for caring, Shelley. I just added a link at the bottom of the post. If you want to volunteer time to help mobilize others, talk to Sarah Horvath.
Thanks for your advocacy Seth. Never seen such devastation here before. It’s just heartbreaking. It will take years to recover and rebuild. Love you my friend.
