I’m a retired 58 year old Aussie & earlier this year spent 2 months as a volunteer in Siem Reap, Cambodia with the Green Gecko Project which provides all levels of support & creates life opportunities to those young street urchins you see begging for money at all times of the night. My experience of the children reflect those of you son. They are so starved of love & attention. Yet they are just such wonderfull beings despite their harsh experiences in their short little lives. I miss them desperately & am returning again for 6 weeks at end Jan ’08. Similarly, I have the deepest respect for those many (young people)I have met who have put their lives on hold for a year or more to do volunteer work with Green Gecko & other organisations in the area. I cannot begin to describe the impact my Cambodian experience has had on me.
