EpochThe world of missions has turned upside down in the last 30 years. The creativity, energy, and passion of a new generation is spreading God’s Kingdom around the world in amazing ways.

That’s why AIM is helping organize Epoch 2011. We want to celebrate those ministries that are most innovative. To do so, we’re collaborating with some ministry partners and introducing a new gala event where we’ll share the inspiring stories and innovative solutions that are advancing the Kingdom of God throughout the world.

It will be held at the Fox Theater in Atlanta on Monday, October 24, 2011. It’s a black-tie event that will connect generations, organizations, and countries as hundreds come together to honor those serving around our country and the world. We will be recognizing twenty-one finalists and awarding $50,000 in cash grants to people in seven categories. In fact, you can nominate someone you believe in here.

We’ve assembled a distinguished panel to oversee the nomination process:

Jeff Shinabarger – Plywood People
Tim Abare – The Abare Group
Carlos Whitaker – Raggamuffin Soul
Nikki Toyamo-Szeto – InterVarsity/Urbana
Leroy Barber – Mission Year
Brad Lomenick – Catalyst
Brad Abare – Center for Church Communications
Seth Barnes – Adventures in Missions
William High, National Christian Foundation/Heartland
Jon Acuff – Author, Stuff Christians Like & Quitter
Phileena Heurtz – Word Made Flesh
Charles Lee – Ideation
Chance Mason – 316 Networks
Naomi Zacharias – Wellspring International

I really think it will be a night to remember. The presenters at the gala are Jon Acuff, Naomi Zacharias, and William High. The musical guest is Aaron Keyes.

I want to encourage you to get involved. If you would like to partner with us or secure a table for you and your guests please email or call Tim Abare on his cell phone at 980-328-2734. I’ll be there. If you live anywhere near Atlanta, I hope you will join me.

If you would like to purchase individual gala tickets please click here. They’re a little costly, but consider that 90% of the cost is being given away in cash grants. Your ticket cost is also tax deductible (less the food cost).

Do you know a ministry you really believe in that could use some recognition and money for their creativity and fruit? Or someone who deserves the Lifetime Achievement Award for having served in the mission field throughout their
life and making a lasting contribution to their area of service? Or any of six other awards.
If so, please nominate them here – it only takes a minute.
This is our first shot at this – it feels like we’re taking a risk in sponsoring it – please let me know what you think of the concept.
