It's finally here. My first book in quite a while.
I've been working for nearly five years on a book about the process people go through on the World Race.
I knew there were deeper lessons involved in a young person's decision to leave everything and travel the world, and I wanted to unpack them.
Life itself is a journey, one long initiation rite we never completely finish. And the stages of a journey like a mission trip can help us better understand it.
This kind of project requires an entire team; I've been writing it with a variety of people, including my son-in-law and several staff members at Adventures.
Without them, I never would have been able to put this in your hands.
The book has been through numerous rewrites and drafts; we even asked a group of 40 early reviewers last fall for initial feedback.
It's dragged on longer than I thought it would, but I'm confident the final product will show all the work we put into it.
It's called Kingdom Journeys: Rediscovering the Lost Spiritual Discipline, and you can check out the book site here. The book is in its final stages of printing, so it should be ready in the next couple of weeks.
In the mean time, I'm excited to share with you that the first chapter is now available for download.
