This video by Charity Powell moved me. God repeatedly says that widows and orphans are on his heart. They should be on ours too. Once he asked me, “Who will be that one’s father?” It reduced me to tears. I knew the answer was: “Me.”
 
If you’ve ever held an orphan who was looking for a father, you know what I mean. It will wreck you.

  • I’m sitting here with our youngest daughter as I respond to your post remembering that we have an increasingly fatherless generation here and many places abroad. The time we spend listening is likely the best investment we’ll ever make. And being “wrecked” with the reality of our world is the best way for us to really live.
