Then the little girl came over and stood in front of her. She was feverish and covered with sores – probably HIV-infected. Christi reached out to the girl and held her and when she did, something inside her broke. Christi realized that she was giving the girl the only comfort on that hot day that she would get. Christi has three children of her own. She knows what it is to miss a mother’s love. She knows the difference a mom makes. Later, she said, “I’ll never be the same. ”

And now that she’s returned, she and Kevin feel God calling them to go back. Christi can’t sit still – she has to respond. And so should some of the rest of us. If you’re not doing widows and orphans somewhere else, join us in caring for the nation that is dying of AIDS faster than any other in the world.

The sacrifices required in leaving America behind are many, but as this video about our ministry in Swaziland makes clear, something must be done. Someone must go.

Thanks for sharing what is happening in Swaziland and the hope of Christ that AIM is bringing to people there. I can’t wait to get there and be able to love on the precious Swazi children. They have already captured my heart!

Our tax rebate is going into our “get us to Swazi” account. Please, Lord, let there be another vision trip this year…if not, I’m tempted to hop a plane and just go!

The great thing about your blog Seth is that you rally brokenhearted people to become sacrificial solutions to those who are desperate. Way to go, Christi and Kevin, two soldiers in God’s army of sacrificial servants.

Lately I have been trying to figure out how you get a family overseas. The logistics, economics and details seem less important today. Entries like today’s and this, http://dennisbrock.myadventures.org/, are less about how and more about who. Thanks for the reminder and challenge, Seth.

Thank you for writing about Christi and Kevin. I was on the vision trip to Swaziland with them and I also will never forget the day that Christi held that little one and loved on her. I’m so excited about what God is doing in their lives and can’t WAIT to see the next chapters.
