Please Help the Philippines!
Adventures has staff and volunteers on the ground in the Philippines. They are helping mobilize people and resources to help. Liz Ogletree is one of them. A week before Typhoon Haiyan hit, Liz heard the Lord calling her to fly from Oregon to the Philippines and wait for his assignment there.
I was Liz’s coach on the World Race. She wrote me and I said, “Buy the ticket and go.” How gratifying to know that in the midst of this disaster, God was putting people like Liz in place to show his care.
She arrived to a scene of total devastation. She was met by Becky, who works with Kenny Sacht and our team on the ground. Liz files this report:
“Becky’s family is from Dulag, Leyte. It is a city, much like Tacloban, lost all infrastructure and resources. The people there are now stranded with no food, shelter, gasoline, electricity, cell service, and NO AID. They are CRYING out for help.
They are planning on talking to the officials when they get there to assess what supplies are needed. We are doing everything we can to pull strings to get this city on the map so aid will get there. (We would love your help with this as well)
Adventures in Missions is mobilizing a team to help.
For now, we need PRAYER. LOTS OF PRAYER.
Secondly, we are asking if you would consider giving to help the relief efforts. You can go to the link here: Typhoon Haiyan Disaster Relief to give. ANY AMOUNT would be so appreciated, and your gift will go directly to aid in bringing relief to those who need it most. Click “general fund” and please note “RELIEF” in your donation.”
