The Top 10 World Race Stories
Since starting the World Race 18 years ago, we’ve seen God show up in dramatic ways. So many of us have loved following racers as they encountered impossible situations and trusted God to provide.
I’ve loved reading their stories – thousands of them. Time has flown by – the youngest racers on the field today were born in the same year the World Race started!
There is a generation who need to hear some of the stories from the past 18 years – the ones that make you realize God is still doing the same miracles he did with the disciples.
So, I’m going to share the top 10 racer stories I’ve read. I’ll count them down beginning with #10 today. And along the way, I want to welcome you readers to submit any you especially liked. You can find many here in our archives.
Feel free to share them either in the comment section below, or by emailing me directly (see Contact above).
Here’s the first one from Dayna Bickham in 2016 (see her report on FB).
#10 Lesvos, Greece Refugee Crisis Jan. 2016
Dayna’s team of volunteers on Lesvos, Greece was responsible for feeding and clothing thousands of refugees coming across from Turkey in the cold Mediterranean waters.
What her team experienced reminded them of story of Jesus multiplying food to feed 5000+ people. A few fish and some bread fed them all. Dayna’s report:
“We saw a genuine multiplication miracle last night. We had almost 400 people in our block at Moria last night and enough food for 250 of them in seven trays of food.
We prayed for Jesus to provide and thanked him for loving these people extraordinarily well.
We handed out the food. When we were done, there were three trays full of food left over! People were bringing us the left over unopened meals! Here they are:
To summarize: 400 hungry refugees just off the boat from Turkey. We served them individual meals for about 250 in 7 trays. When they were finished eating, instead of 150 people who didn’t get food complaining, there were multiple trays left over!”
God is alive and performing miracles like this around the world. We who follow Jesus and trust him get to see them. And we get to share stories like this one.
Next time you talk to a cynic about Jesus being the son of God, tell them this story and show them this picture of three of the food trays that came back. If they need more evidence than that, talk to Dayna.
I’ll be sharing the rest of the top 10 World Race stories in the next few weeks.

Seth,
Of the considerable gifts God has given you, holy innovation is clearly one of them. When the iconic hockey great Wayne Gretzky was asked “Why are you called ‘The Great One?’ he replied, “I skate to where the puck will be. Not where it was. Not where it is.” God’s given you creative gifts expressed in programs like the World Race. l am praying he keeps your fires stoked! Love you.

I look forward to reading the “World Race Top 10”! Thanks for fanning the zeal of belief that God is still in the business of working miracles and mighty acts of love today.
