One of the best things you can do in life is to give yourself away to the next generation. Although I’ve been fortunate to mentor and disciple a lot of guys closer to my age, here’s a list of those whom I’ve walked with for three or more years who are 33 years old or younger. I’ve invested in a lot of young women (my own wonderful daughters for starters!), but here I’m focusing on the guys. Please click on their names and read about how they’re changing the world. What an encouragement these guys are!
My one and only son. We get to go through life together and I’m so proud of him. He has really come into his own this past year. What a man of God he’s become!
Miguel and I met in 2002 in Peru. He was crazy then and nothing has changed since then. He loves people, especially Dominicans!
I communicate more with Jeff in a given day than just about anyone. He takes coaching so well and has absorbed anything I’ve got to give.
Kevin may be amazingly talented in business, but his heart is for Africa. We fell in love with Swaziland together. Expect great things from Kevin.
Chad has a mad love for people and adventure. He was on our first World Race team and was our leader on the next team. Love his passion.
Ben is a natural leader and trainer. But beyond that, he and Janeen have become close personal friends to Karen and I. We like to hang out.
Chris is more talented than he realizes. I keep waiting for the world to recognize his amazing musical ability. We love Chris & Jenny and expect great things from them!
Scott is a man’s man. A deep thinker who doesn’t pull any punches. He just became a father, so I’m waiting to see how that changes his life.
Rusty went from TV sports anchor to radical Jesus follower faster than I’ve ever seen a person change. Marrying Ericka may do even more to him!
You can’t see Brother Eugene’s face here because he’s serving in the most Muslim city in China. He was a focused radical when I met him at age 19.
Sean is on a fast track with Jesus. He’s latched onto a level of spiritual power that is going to shake the world. I’m excited to follow Sean to see how God uses him!
Emmanuel Sadiq
Emmanuel is an evangelist and pastor in Pakistan. We got to know one another after an earthquake shook that country three years ago. He is a miracle worker.
They are already rocking the world and the best is yet to come! Let me challenge you to find young people like these guys to give your life away to and make that a priority. In a world where so much seems to be falling apart, where the news is relentlessly negative, giving yourself to others is one investment that will weather any economic downturn.
Note: I may be leaving out a few of you, so if you belong on this list, please let me know and I’ll add you!
