Thoughts: I like them both. You/AIM do them both. Praying the Lord gives you EXACTLY what you’re/He is looking for.
the one you have now is indeed very passionate and bold. the new one is.. well what exactly is Gods dream..
was my first impression..
how are you defining generation?
I like the old one but with Scott’s concern: what does “generation” mean?
I like them both …also!
What does your heart want to co/birth with the Lord that will change the course of generations.
Just a thought…
Discipling the nations, establishing God’s destiny of the generations.
Abrahams faith was for the generations. He saw us by faith. He saw through the eyes of eternity.
Your faith is for your children and your children’s children. You desire to leave a legacy.
What do you see…that God is calling you to that will make an “impact” to effect the generations? Establising a a perpetual increase in the earth?
Your the man. Your raising sons as fathers. Your doing it. Your making a generational impact.
Your mission statement is going to go before you and you are going to walk into it and others will follow.
Just thinking outloud! Be blessed.
“Discipling generations to fulfill God’s dream on earth as in heaven.”
Lately, as I speak of you Seth, the one thing that I feel is your strongest suite is that when God changes directions you are not bound to the old way; you move with the cloud. You are unafraid as you pull up the tent stakes and follow the new path; you are not satisfied to be stuck in a comfortable place but rather you watch what He does, you listen to what He says, and you do what He says to do.
My tweak of what you propose:
Discipling generations to co-labor with God; fulfilling His dream for earth just as it is in heaven.
Discipling all generations to teach, learn and share with each other to make God’s dreams and plans a radical reality thru out the world. Just my humble opinion…
I really do like where you are heading, but what is God’s dream? How would it be measured? How do you know you are on the right track with your mission?
i like it! all the way up to the word “dream.” men (and women) have dreams… and visions. God… He has a plan, a will, a purpose. but the word “dream,” as pertains to Almighty God just seems lacking to me somehow…
Agree with Dean…the word ‘dream’ doesn’t cut it. “Radically Committed Disciples of Jesus Christ” says it all. The young people need to be radically committed to Jesus Christ–don’t leave His name out. Dream and God is so much puffy white clouds saying nothing.
Sorry, but I also don’t like the word ‘dream’ in there. God’s Kingdom?
for starters, the new one is awkward grammatically with the double use of “to”. maybe “in establishing” or “toward establishing” in place of the 2nd “to”?
i have always liked “the dream of god” as a way of talking about and explaining the mission of god. but, i think you’ll run into problems with “dream” (as you can already see from other comments!).
I really like the “raising up” part because you’re not just discipling us, but calling us out and up to something higher.
I also like the establishing part though because you are not just discipling us so that we can feel good about ourselves. The whole point is that we will go on to establish Kingdom.
So, it doesn’t roll as smoothely as I would like but something more along the lines of
Raising up a new generation of radically committed disciples to establish God’s Kingdom on earth.
ooh…I’m digging Kim’s version. I think that’s right on, and it’s got some good, strong verbage.
Calling followers of Jesus Christ into the realities of Kingdom living through the process of discipleship.
However you phrase it, keep it up!
I’m with Marko on the action word “discipling” as opposed to “to disciple”. Would you consider “generations” as opposed to “a new generation”? That doesn’t disqualify the adults from your trips, and also could carry on to future generations. I agree that the word “dream of God” sounds like a concept God wishes for but couldn’t attain on His own.
To piggy back on what Kim wrote previously:
Raising up generations of radically committed disciples to establish God’s Kingdom on earth.
“To be Jesus and establish his kingdom in the nations.”
I like Katherine’s. good one.
I lurk here but never post… but am brainstorming a new mission statement for our ministry as well, so this caught my eye.
LOVE the newly brainstormed one. Absolutely love it. Would just say “discipling” rather than “to disciple” since you’re already doing it actively…
I would encourage you to keep “Jesus Christ” in there somewhere because:
a) There’s power in that name
b) JC cannot be confused with any other “gods” out there…
Call sometime…
