My best prayer times are mornings. But mornings can be rough, especially if you’re not a coffee person. Here are the six worst traps that have kept me from praying:

  1. I stay up too late the night before – I’m exhausted and wake up late.
  2. I get kicked out of my usual spot of the guest room, so I’ve got to pray in the living room and keep getting interrupted.
  3. My laptop is conveniently available. So I think, “I’ll just look at the emails that came last night.”
  4. Someone wakes up early and joins me in the living room.
  5. I ‘ve scheduled a breakfast appointment and have to cut prayer short.
  6. I’m too lazy to get out my journal and my mind wanders during prayer. I start making TO DO lists instead.

Anybody have any others?
