My best prayer times are mornings. But mornings can be rough, especially if you’re not a coffee person. Here are the six worst traps that have kept me from praying:
- I stay up too late the night before – I’m exhausted and wake up late.
- I get kicked out of my usual spot of the guest room, so I’ve got to pray in the living room and keep getting interrupted.
- My laptop is conveniently available. So I think, “I’ll just look at the emails that came last night.”
- Someone wakes up early and joins me in the living room.
- I ‘ve scheduled a breakfast appointment and have to cut prayer short.
- I’m too lazy to get out my journal and my mind wanders during prayer. I start making TO DO lists instead.
Anybody have any others?
Number 1 is my biggest challenge followed closely by number 3.
