Just got off the phone with our Haiti staff guy. Here’s his report:
When the government took the kids away from the SOG orphanage, they left in one or two buses (we couldn’t confirm). They divided them up by gender, the girls in one orphanage and the boys in the other.
They didn’t tell us where they’d taken the girls, but we knew where the boys were. It was a very confusing situation. We had to drive around for 3 1/2 hours trying to find where the girls were.
When we finally found the girls orphanage, we counted just 31 there. We were gratified to see that they seemed to be doing well.
The story was not as positive with the boys – just a few there. The director of that orphanage had been initially encouraging, but when we arrived said, “You don’t have authorization.” He seemed upset and shooed us away.
As we looked around, we could see why he might be concerned. Some of the boys who looked to be 6 and 7 years-old were on some kind of work detail, swinging pickaxes.
All told, we are missing 46 orphans, 23 girls, and 23 boys. We don’t know where they were taken or how they are doing. One of them, Magdala, is especially precious to the Barnes family.
We don’t want to stop fighting for these kids until we know where they are and know that they’re cared for.
You can read more about it in this article.
Please keep praying and sign this petition asking for an investigation.

Wow – praying right now that these children are okay and will be located soon. God knows the hairs on our head so I know he is aware of their whereabouts. Keep us posted so we know how to pray in detail.
Praying…
Praying…we know the battle is not over ut in the end God will triumph.
This is sad news for us and we are praying for for them and I will pass this request to other friends and my church prayer team.God is good God.

Bittersweet, heartbreaking. I don’t understand how adults could so blatantly exploit children.
Praying for the children, and praying that the staff is comforted and strengthened in the midst of the confusion and heartbreak. God has brought you this far, He will continue to lead you. He knows each child…
so upsetting to hear, just finished praying for Magdala and all these precious children and the staff there.
My heart is broken. Praying for those sweet kids. Praying for your sweet Magdala.
Seth, I just wanna say I am super proud to know you, to still be able to call AIM family, now more than ever! You take a lot of hits man. I am not a fan of humanitarianism, false social justice. Ya know, making the world a better place to go to hell from. AND I am not a fan of religion, sitting in our comfortable stain glass red carpet churches all nice and comfortable. I am a fan of people who love Jesus and because of that are getting dirty and getting real when the Holy Spirit presses something on their hearts and they go after it with every thing they have to save the lost and to care for orphans and widows. The Spirit of the Lord is clearly up on you in this. We are praying. (man even as I type that I am convicted, will I say a nice little prayer as I go to bed, or will I put in in my schedule right now to spend some serious time in prayer, in the battle… tears in my eyes now, it’s going in my schedule!) I hear the Lord, say to you Seth, “well done my son”… hang in there!!!

Thanks for the prayers and kind words, folks. I just received some more news – a lot of encouraging – shows me that God’s answering your prayers. Quite a story to tell when it’s all over. Please keep praying.
This is heartbreaking. Our team has been praying for God’s intercession.
Definitely heartbreaking! Praying these children will be found SOON! Thanks Seth for all you are doing! Praying for you too!
I hit the ‘Like’ button above, but obviously I don’t like what is going on, but I like that people are speaking up for the voiceless and vulnerable and not turning their eyes away. Thank you for being part of a caring team that refuses to take “I don’t know” for an answer about more than 50 missing children.
Praying with you and signed the petition.
Echoing Carrie in this sentiment: “God knows the hairs on our head so I know he is aware of their whereabouts.”
I’m so grateful that He watches over His little ones in unfathomable ways.
I know this deep truth from my own childhood.
Much love,
Judith
