One of the things I love about the World Race is the opportunity to experience life vicariously as the racers send back videos in real time. Yesterday they hiked up an active volcano in Guatemala, roasted marshmallows over the orange-hot lava, and had a blast living the abundant life on top of a part of the world they barely knew existed before the year began.

It’s not all fun and games. They go days without showers, rough it living in tents, and minister the love of Jesus in a hundred different ways, whether holding orphans or caring for the homeless in dusty slum streets.

Whatever the video or blog that they send back (and you can see all the videos here on the Youtube World Race channel), it thrills me to see them living life to the full. How many of us adults ever got the chance to do that before we were domesticated by a career and far too many of somebody else’s expectations?
